Who am I?
Hello there! I'm Willa Cassandra Riggins, and I'm the author of this lovely blog. Everything you read on this site came straight out of my /dev/random and into your stdin. I self identify with a myriad of labels, but the important ones are: lesbian, mother, hacker, maker, and I stand with #girlslikeus. If you want to know more about me, check out my ask.fm or shoot me an email.
In February 2014 my wife and I had our first child, Alistair. He's a tiny, rabunctious bundle of joy and we've never been happier about anything in our entire lives. Being the other mother comes with its own set of unique challenges, but I wouldn't change it for the world. Our family is the one thing I can always count on.
For over a decade I've been curious about information security; building, breaking, and making things do what they were never meant to do. I work as an internal penetration tester by day and, when I'm not dancing around with my awesome little family, spend time hanging out at the local hackerspace by night. I tinker with hardware, build crazy things, and write code that does the perceptibly impossible.
I wasn't always a wife; that came with age I suppose. Alicia and I have been together for over a decade, and we've been through so many experiences together. Whether it was taking her to get her driver's license, or the quality time we spent in awe after Alistair's birth, we've done life together. She gave me the courage and love I needed to be myself. There's something to be said for love like that -- it is unstoppable. Forever and always, I am hers.
